Lisnagelvin Primary School is 40!
Today marked the launch of Lisnagelvin Primary School’s 40th celebrations! Yes…., 40 years ago, Lisnagelvin Primary School opened its doors for the first time, and since then, the school has nurtured and educated thousands of boys and girls, many of whom are now mums and dads of pupils at school today!
Each class enjoyed individual celebration cakes and every pupil received a water bottle as a momento of the school’s 40th anniversary, whilst being involved in special activities within their classrooms.
Then, yesterday afternoon, Primary 5H, under the direction of class teacher, Mrs Hughes, performed to special guests including past members of staff, Board of Governors, local clergy, parents and friends. They took the audience on a trip “down memory lane”, reminiscing on aspects of the school over the last 40 years. The celebration culminated with the “cutting of the celebration cake” followed by a cream tea reception.
All present had an opportunity to browse through the photographic displays of Lisnagelvin Primary School's history over the past four decades - a truly wonderful day for the school!
The school is looking forward to hosting many more social events over the ensuing months to mark this milestone in our school calendar.
